Marius, that line of the docs talks generally about UNIX and Windows, Mako
and Chameleon, relative and absolute pathnames. I examined closely just one
of these 8 cases. I'm not familiar with either Pyramid on Windows, or the
Pyramid template engine bindings in general, or Chameleon. I even haven't
been using Pyramid with Mako for long yet.

So I can only suggest adding another warning paragraph after the next
warning paragraph ("Only
*Chameleon*<http://docs.pylonsproject.org/projects/pyramid/en/latest/glossary.html#term-chameleon>templates
 suppor..."), something like this:

"Mako templates interpret absolute UNIX pathnames (those starting with a
slash) relative to the lookup path defined by mako.directories, so the
starting slash does not mean the root of the underlying filesystem."

But then someone more familiar with these things could unify the first
general paragraph with the existing exception paragraph and the above
suggested second exception paragraph.
