That would be great! I don't want to mention how much time I wasted
with gdb before I went to check the mailing list. A bit of code that
checks to see if the JVM is instantiated and prints "RTFM n00b" or
similar before the segfault would be nice. ;)

(I was thrown for a loop becuase I'm upgrading from pylucene 1.9,
which didn't have this issue.)
