I am looking at pymedia to make a tool for capturing voice samples in mp3 format. I got the voice recorder app working OK, and it looks promising.
The demo app though records a sample being told in advance how long to record for.
What I'd like though is for recording to start and stop under user control. I'd then like to manipulate the audio to remove silence at the start and end of teh sample.
I guess for this we would first record uncompressed audio, then do the processing, then compress after.
Where do I like in the code though to see how I would start/stop under user control?
