Yes. What I do is to use a script to step through each frame of the movie (rotation by 1 degree, zoom in slightly, change transparency slightly, etc), ray-trace (optional), and dump the png. From there, ffmpeg will combine all of these into a single movie file (memcoder is supposed to do this as well). I'm not entirely sure what you mean by frames from scenes, though.
