Hi Changdev - 

Try the following command, which will save a ray-traced PNG image with 
transparent background (which is what is represented by the checkerboard 
pattern):

    png myfigure.png, ray=1

Alternatively, you can adjust the ray background setting:

    set ray_opaque_background, 1
