IMO, that's a big selling point of CL: You can easily install a bunch of
implementations side-by-side. For a while, I even had a box with both Nv
and AMD GPUs, all running CL. (Debian's excellent packaging of all the
CL stuff made this miracle possible.)
Here's another trick: You typically don't need to run the installers of
the proprietary CPU CL implementations (or, for that matter, install the
RPM packages). I just grab the files from the package, put them
somewhere under /opt, point an .icd file under /etc/OpenCL/vendors at
the implementation (lib{intel,amd}ocl*.so) with the full path, done.
