uhm, that's weird. I've just tried a jvm translation on a linux machine and it works fine. I don't have any windows machine with JDK to try it by myself, but I'm downloading it right now. In the meantime: could you tell us what is the result of typing "print obj" and "print ootype.typeOf(obj)" at the pdb prompt?
