Hi all,

I'm happy to say we've finally managed to set up the necessities for the PySide Enhancement Process (PSEP). The PSEP process will be used in designing the API improvements for PySide. The process itself is blatantly plagiarized from Python's PEP process, and those familiar with it should feel right at home.

The current PSEPs (the PSEP index, process description and the PSEP template) can be found at:

http://www.pyside.org/docs/pseps/

Short summary of the process: if you have an idea how to improve the PySide API, present it on the pyside mailing list. If you get discussion and encouraging comments, grab the PSEP template, fill it in, and submit to the PSEP editors (initially me). The editor will check the scope and the general presentation (but must not reject it according to personal opinions on the subject matter), assign a PSEP number and check it in. After that, the PSEP is discussed on the mailing list, and the PSEP author gathers opinions, improvements and dissenting opinions on the PSEP, and submits new versions to the editor. Completed PSEPs are then accepted or rejected (but not arbitrarily changed) by the core team, after which it should be implemented, integrated and deemed final.

Be the first one to submit a PSEP!

Cheers,

ma.
