Yes, it is. There are bindings to the QDeclerativeContext that you can use from within python to add QML items and entities.
I am actually working on an official PySide + QML , in the meanwhile you can consult some of the examples: http://qt.gitorious.org/pyside/pyside-examples/trees/master/examples/declarative I know that's not enough, but maybe Matti can provide more links?
