Hi All,

A while ago I mentioned a I was working on a tool called "Hatchet" to
reduce the size of frozen python applications that bundle pyside. I've
finally gotten around to writing a quick motivational/demo piece if
you're interested.

The basic idea of Hatchet is to recompile the pyside bindings with
only the classes and methods that you need, saving many megabytes on the
size of the frozen distribution.

Hope a few of you might find it useful.

And on a personal note, many many thanks to the PySide team for their
amazing work. That a tool like Hatchet is possible at all, let alone
possible in ~1000 lines of code, is a real credit to the design of
PySide and Shiboken.

  Cheers,

     Ryan
