Dear Community, I'm really happy to communicate that with Python 3.8.1 out, we were able to release Qt for Python 5.14, and you can get it now from PyPi.
https://pypi.org/project/PySide2/ Here are the changes: https://code.qt.io/cgit/pyside/pyside-setup.git/tree/dist/changes-5.14.0?h=5.14 As I previously mentioned, there were many issues that stopped us to release a Python 3.8 compatible set of wheels, and when everything was solved there were a couple of missing symbols on the Windows DLL that made us wait until Python 3.8.1 to have a working set of wheels for Windows. We promise we will communicate the issues we had on a blog post, in the meantime you can see the updates on the PYSIDE-939 issue on JIRA: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/PYSIDE-939 that tell the story of what was needed to be fixed. Please consider that PySide2/Shiboken2 will *not* work on Windows with Python 3.8.0, but it will work for macOS and Linux, that's why 3.8.1 is encouraged. Let us know if you find something is not properly working, and submit a bug report on JIRA: https://bugreports.qt.io/projects/PYSIDE Remember to stay in touch with the community if you have any further questions, you can reach us all on the different platforms we have: https://wiki.qt.io/Qt_for_Python#Community Happy holidays, and we hope we can improve Qt for Python next year with the help of everyone! Because remember, you can become a collaborator by following this couple of steps: https://wiki.qt.io/Qt_for_Python/Development_Getting_Started and keep in mind that you can help the project by fixing typos, writing examples, fixing bugs, or even with new ideas!
