Hello,
I've juste installed Pytables, but I get this error (cf. attachment)
when running test_carray.py.
How bad is it ?
Quite bad indeed. Which version of Numeric are you using? Please
indicate as well PyTables version, and operating system.
I have both Numeric 23.6-1 and numarray-1.5.0 installed. I compiled
Pytables-1.2.1, and OS is Linux version 2.6.15-ARCH.
Is is a problem with having both numarray and numeric ?
Nope. I think the problem is that your Numeric version is too old.
Please upgrade it (I think latest is 24.2). This is documented in the
README.txt and the installation chapter of the Users' Manual, although
provided users tend to not read docs and generally they run the test
suite (or I think so), it might be better to add some warning during
the execution of tests.
It works fine now ! I now use Numeric 24.2.
I had read the docs, but had somehow understood that Numarray replaced
Numeric.
Thanks a lot, now I can explore pytbales. By the way, thanks a lot for the
extra fast replies.
Cheers,
