The bug is rather strange. I would have imagined that fseek() and rewind() are using the file descriptor internally. It's more than weird that an operation on the file handler doesn't affect the file descriptor. I wonder how they were able to manage it ... IronPython might be fun but I've hacked PythonDotNet. You get the worst from the C, .NET/C# and Mono together.
