Reedy <tjre...@udel.edu> added the comment: It has been agreed that IDLE could assume tk8.5 (or possibly 8.4 + tile extension) and use themed widgets (though it is not yet) and not run otherwise. Further discussion would be needed to do the same for tkinter, but maybe by 3.4 that might be reasonable.
