Keep in mind that the core-mentorship list is a closed list so any discussions 
there would take place without direct participation of the (many?) core 
developers, like me, not currently on the list.  Soliciting opinions is one 
thing but, in general, I don't think it is a good idea to encourage side, 
non-public discussions of the development process.
