George Castillo added the comment: I misunderstood the rationale for the function returning infinite at those points - I didn't realize that C99 was the governing force behind the implementation of these functions, rather than mathematical rigor. Thanks for pointing it out. In that case, I agree with you that, in order to conform, these functions would need to return the values required by those documents.
