Mark Lawrence added the comment: How can you rant about something "won't get fixed" when it's an enhancement request? If it's that important and/or so simple the OP or anyone else for that matter can provide a patch, including tests and doc changes. Given that the issue is nearly 4 1/2 years old I'm not holding my breath.
