Martin v. Löwis added the comment: I see. I read the tutorial as actually giving permission to use these very shapes and forms for an icon. So if the resulting icon is (or could be) the result of following these steps, my layman's interpretation is that we have permission to use it.
However, the PSF has legal council for exactly this question.
