This may be fixed already, or a bug in FC4. Or perhaps you could
provide more information on how the bug is invoked. I was able to
successfully execute a doctest with "\xee" in the path on an F8 box:
Python 2.5.1 (r251:54863, Oct 30 2007, 13:54:11)
[GCC 4.1.2 20070925 (Red Hat 4.1.2-33)] on linux2
