Terry J. Reedy added the comment: For me, FLAT is about as mushy as the default, while SOLID actually looks like a divider. I find the sash easier to 'grab' and move. I plan to go with that. If it looks substantially worse on some other system, we could make the argument conditional on sys.platform or whatever.
