R. David Murray added the comment: That's my point. What comes out of communicate *should* be os.linesep, unless I'm missing something. So this test failing indicates a bug. Of course, I've never worked with an embedded interpreter, so there could be something I'm missing. But, you say yourself it is a behavior change, and that in itself is a potential bug.
