David Edelsohn added the comment: The Python testsuite does not produce completely clean results on AIX. You can see the AIX tester for comparison. Some are caused by assumptions in the testcases that are correct for Linux but not for some Unix systems, and some are caused by incorrect behavior of corner cases in AIX system libraries. Python works on AIX and should work for your purposes to build Firefox. I don't understand why you think that the problems must be fixed for you to make progress on your project.
