Zachary Ware added the comment: Considering the consensus somewhere in the middle of this discussion that this is not a Python bug, the unavailability of VS2008 Express, and the availability of the Visual C++ Compiler for Python 2.7 package, I'm closing this as 'wont fix'. If anyone just absolutely can't be satisfied by Visual C++ Compiler for Python 2.7, you can reopen.
