Brett Cannon added the comment: The official requirements for OS support is outlined in https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0011/#supporting-platforms which requires a core dev to step forward to maintain bitrig support as well as a buildbot running bitrig. Unfortunately neither has happened yet for Bitrig.
