Martin Panter added the comment: Under <https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0389/#deprecation-of-optparse> it says “Importing optparse will issue a PendingDeprecationWarning” (not DeprecationWarning!), however even this does not appear to be the case. Maybe somebody forgot to do this, or maybe somebody decided not to do this; I dunno.
