Zachary Ware added the comment: Unfortunately, this is unlikely to be fixed. Python 3.4 is in security-fix only mode, so this will only be fixed in 3.4 if it can be shown to be a security issue. Even so, a binary installer will not be produced for the next 3.4 release, so you'd have to build it yourself. Also, it's not clear that this is a bug in Python itself, we'd need a reproducer that doesn't require PySerial.
