Christian Heimes added the comment: Py_HASH_CUTOFF was an experimental feature for low-performance platforms. On modern hardware the performance increase is marginal to non-existing. I planned to deprecate the feature in 3.6 but forgot. We can deprecate it now and remove it in either 3.7 or 3.8.
