Terry J. Reedy <tjre...@udel.edu> added the comment:
I am going to accept Raymond's rejection of a general change. I will reconsider the tkinter doc should I ever work on it. For IDLE code, I have settled on 'from tkinter import Tk, Text, ..., perhaps followed by 'from tkinter.ttk import Scrollbar, ...'. But having alternate sources for many modules is a special case. Listing each object is a bit more effort*, but I like knowing what is imported, from where after reading the module header. (* With complete tests, NameErrors quickly expose omissions.) Carol, thank you for bumping this issue. ---------- resolution: -> rejected stage: needs patch -> resolved status: open -> closed type: -> enhancement _______________________________________ Python tracker <rep...@bugs.python.org> <https://bugs.python.org/issue22571> _______________________________________ _______________________________________________ Python-bugs-list mailing list Unsubscribe: https://mail.python.org/mailman/options/python-bugs-list/archive%40mail-archive.com
