I'm using "master" in memoryview because of the audio connotation ("the source from which all copies will be produced"): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_mastering The ManagedBufferObject is literally the source from which all views are produced. Conductors are sometimes called "Maestro", there are chess grandmasters, Tiger Woods won the Masters Tournament, Art Tatum is called a master pianist, millions of people hold a master's degree. The term "master" has so many positive connotations that I think it is misguided to effectively eliminate it from the current English language. ---------- nosy: +skrah _______________________________________ Python tracker <rep...@bugs.python.org> <https://bugs.python.org/issue34605> _______________________________________ _______________________________________________ Python-bugs-list mailing list Unsubscribe: https://mail.python.org/mailman/options/python-bugs-list/archive%40mail-archive.com
