Unfortunately due to licensing issues, it looks like I'll have to ditch the PR and start from scratch: it was too heavily based on the glibc implementation, which has a stricter license. It may be take a good deal of time before I have a potential replacement, but I'll try to work on a "clean-room" implementation.
