I sometimes use this trick on Windows: name the script with a .bat 
extension, and put these lines on top of the file:

@echo off
rem = """
rem run python on this bat file.
rem The -x causes python to skip the first line of the file:
c:\path\to\python -x %~dpnx0 %*
goto :EOF
rem """
