Nobody I've nosied on this issue recently has expressed any opinion on the matter. I'm gonna try one more person: Graham Dumpleton, the maintainer of "wrapt", Python's premier function-wrapping. Graham, care to express any opinions about this issue? Can we fix it without causing widespread wailing and gnashing of teeth?
