Tim Golden <m...@timgolden.me.uk> added the comment: I doubt there's any real likelihood of the official Python 2.5.4 being generated with a different compiler: it would mean, in principle, that all binary extensions would have be recompiled to ensure there were no issues. I suggest you ask on the Python mailing list / newsgroup where people can help you to compile things yourself as you obviously have the means.
