Another try. I have opened a file for writing, and have tried to read
from it:
>>> fp = open ('xxx', 'w')
>>> fp.read ()
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
IOError: [Errno 9] Bad file descriptor
