Fred L. Drake, Jr. <fdr...@acm.org> added the comment: I presume you're referring to the documentation for the xml.dom package (as found at http://docs.python.org/library/xml.dom.html#type-mapping) rather than the Python <--> OMG IDL mapping (the link for which appears to have gone stale).
