I can understand you wanting to close it in this case. I've no problem with that. To me at least, it does not seem anywhere near as serious as the other problem. I will try it on Linux though. I have access to reasonably decent (24 core) Linux box, so I'll try it on that. But it means a lot of messing around, downloading mpir, mpfr, possibly newer versions of the GNU binutils etc. Not a 5 minute job. The weather here in the UK is too nice to site behind a computer screen!
