Brian Curtin <cur...@acm.org> added the comment: I'm not sure if it's possible, but even if so, I don't think we should do it. For cmd.exe itself and all processes that run in it, the default is to have it off, and you can enable it on a case-by-case basis.
Insert mode really should only be enabled by those who know what it does.
