I've been working on and reviewing some of the release blocking 2to3 patches and issues. Unfortunately, it seems like we don't have many core devs available for reviewing 2to3 changes. I have one patch in particular [1] that I would like to get in soon, since it changes the API a bit to make it more extensible.
