Can we please get rid of the sidebar, or at least provide a way of turning it off? I don't think it's anywhere near useful enough to be worth the space it takes up.
You can only use it when you're scrolled to the top of the page, otherwise it's just a useless empty space. Also, I often want to put the documentation side by side with the code I'm working on, and having about a quarter to a third of the horizontal space taken up with junk makes that much more awkward than it needs to be. A table of contents as a separate page is a lot more usable for me. I can keep it open in a browser tab and switch to it when I want to look at it. Most of the time I don't want to look at it and don't want it taking up space on the page. Also I agree about the grey text being suboptimal. Deliberately throwing away contrast, especially for the main body text, is insane. -- Greg _______________________________________________ Python-Dev mailing list Python-Dev@python.org http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-dev Unsubscribe: http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/python-dev/archive%40mail-archive.com
