By this I assume you mean that QueryPerformanceCounter is not monotonic, because it certainly is high precision. I don't understand why you have come to this conclusion. The fact that some older bios or drivers may be buggy does not suffice to condem whole of windows. Wallclock: This definition is wrong no metter how the BDFL feels about the word.
