I don't think you can honestly claim "full backwards
compatibility" as long as there are some combinations
of old-style and new-style code that won't work
together. You seem to be using your own personal
definition of "full" here.
Well, using next() and iter() on coroutines in asyncio
code is something esoteric. I can't even imagine
why you would want to do that.
