Wrong. Django 1.8 is an Long-Term Support version (supported until April, 2018) while 1.6 support ended in April, 2015 (so one year without security updates ...). https://www.djangoproject.com/download/#supported-versions For EPEL, it would be smarter to stick to LTS releases, rather than sticking to unmaintained releases. Moreover, updates policies are guidelines to prevent mistakes not absolute rules. > On Tue, Aug 16, 2016 at 6:17 PM, Germano Massullo > <germano.massu...@gmail.com> wrote: >> Hello, I would like to ask if it is possible to update python-django >> for EPEL7 to, for example, 1.8 version. >> I am actually going to fill a Review Request for >> python-django-netjsongraph[1], and among its requirements, there is >> python-django-rest-framework that cannot actually be packaged for >> EPEL7 due python-django actual version >> >> Thank you >> >> [1]: https://github.com/interop-dev/django-netjsongraph >> _______________________________________________ >> python-devel mailing list >> python-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org >> https://lists.fedoraproject.org/admin/lists/python-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org > > > > -- > -Igor Gnatenko > _______________________________________________ > python-devel mailing list > python-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org > https://lists.fedoraproject.org/admin/lists/python-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org _______________________________________________ python-devel mailing list python-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org https://lists.fedoraproject.org/admin/lists/python-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org
