It was decided to try https://www.discourse.org at the core dev sprints. We'll likely try it for the upcoming governance model/vote discussions. If it works well we'll consider using it for other discussions in the future.
Let's table this topic for now as we're unlikely to (a) try anything else but Discource; (b) not to try Discource for governance discussions; (c) AFAIK we already have people who will set it up for us, so no help is needed.
