The only API detail I"ve seen is whether to make json.load() take a "path-like or file-like" object, or to have separate functions. And I think the consensus is to have separate functions. And to name them ``loadf()`` and ``savef``. The other potential API issue is whether to support arbitrary encdoings -- but I think the consensus there is also no.
