In fairness, mathematicians typically just invent new symbols, when they're not repurposing existing symbols for totally unrelated ideas :-( I count over 400 maths symbols in Unicode, including over 100 variations on < and > and over 30 variations of the plus sign. So we want to be *really* cautious about following the lead of mathematicians. -- Steve _______________________________________________ Python-ideas mailing list -- python-ideas@python.org To unsubscribe send an email to python-ideas-le...@python.org https://mail.python.org/mailman3/lists/python-ideas.python.org/ Message archived at https://mail.python.org/archives/list/python-ideas@python.org/message/ZH323DPJ5V4HKICQHQVMCBAPGD675P6P/ Code of Conduct: http://python.org/psf/codeofconduct/
