Oops! You're right. The itertools documentation even refers to the SML and Haskell languages. And it contains itertools.izip(), another thing on my wish list. I have reasons to be Python 2.2 compatible, so I haven't really looked through the nice things in 2.3 and up (generators are in __future__ in 2.2).
