I'm interested in updating the very old kerberos extension module. However, the code dates to 1998 and is licensed under what appears to be a pre-python-1.6 CNRI license. Does anyone have recommendations on whether additions and changes to the old code can be licensed under a newer OSI-approved license? There is information on GPL, CNRI 1.6, and python license compatibility, as well as a history of the python licenses in the current python license file. But I can't find suggestions on what to do with such an old version of the CNRI license.
