If I have the option I choose Python to get things done or gain real understanding. The high quality and stability over time of both the language and the libraries is just amazing.
OTH I sometimes really miss little example snippets integrated into the docs right away. I didn't really know what I could do with CGIHTTPServer.py until I recently found out.
