I haven't been able to get the python mode to work for Windows
(do most of my work under Linux anyway), but other than that I'm
pretty happy with it :-)

I'm using Geany (sort of small IDE) and I'm glad using it. But for big projects, NetBeans or Eclipse are better. There are also Komodo EDIT or Stani's Python Editor. Of course if someone like GUI editors/IDE's. Otherwise, use Vi/Emacs. Like someone previously said, search the Google.
