There is huge difference between what Steve is asking and spam. Spam is "Unsolicited e-mail, often of a commercial nature, sent indiscriminately to multiple mailing lists, individuals, or newsgroups".
Steve is asking us help him to identify communities that we may be part of and that we believe may be interested in the PyCon conference and inform them. Not every communication on the internet is spam.
